How Being My Best approaches AI companion laws
Plain-language practices for disclosure, safety, privacy, and scope.
AI disclosure
Moira identifies herself as an AI companion, not a person or clinician. That disclosure remains visible during a conversation and is repeated at the start, after a gap of seven or more days, and every three hours during a continuous conversation.
Crisis protocol
Messages are checked for signs that a person may need immediate human support. The full four-tier protocol and crisis resources are explained on the Safety page.
Adults only
Being My Best is for adults 18 and older. Visitors must confirm they meet that age requirement before continuing.
No ads and no data sale
There is no advertising during a conversation. Being My Best does not sell personal data or share health information with advertisers.
Not therapy and not a licensed professional
Moira does not provide therapy, counseling, medical advice, or crisis care. She is not a licensed professional of any kind and does not diagnose or recommend medication changes.
Being My Best is designed to meet the requirements of state laws governing AI companions and mental-health chatbots, including those in California, New York, Utah, Illinois, Nevada, Oregon, and Tennessee, without limiting where it can be used. This page describes current practice and is not legal advice.
